Challenge

Microsoft UK approached Fifty Five and Five to help Partners promote the Surface Hub 2S devices as the best solution for educational institutions. Education was changing post-pandemic, and the Surface Hub 2S was the ideal device to bring students and lecturers together in the new learning environment due to its effectiveness in facilitating a hybrid learning model - off site and on campus.

The challenge was to create a compelling video asset that would capture the attention of educational institutions and convey the cutting-edge, educational technology of the Surface Hub 2S. The video had to take centre stage in a go-to-market campaign that featured other content assets (eBook, social content, etc), driving the message of better educational experiences for everyone.

Solution

We began by developing the core narrative and messaging based on discussions with Microsoft. Critical questions guided our content. How has the pandemic transformed life on campuses? How can the Surface Hub 2S bridge the gap between remote, hybrid and in-person learning?

We put together a rough script and storyboard, planning scenes that demonstrated the Surface Hub 2S in action. The animation prominently featured Microsoft Teams integration, showcasing real-time collaboration and communication capabilities. We illustrated the ease with which students and lecturers could share resources, engage in discussions, and more regardless of their location.

To complement the strong narrative, we used engaging visual animations from Microsoft’s illustration library to bring the animation to life and clearly represent the usability of the Surface Hub 2S. Paired with a compelling voiceover, the animation articulated the benefits succinctly.
